The Montemarano vines are known for their uniqueness and quality. Aided by A markedly continental climate, the sharp temperature changes and slower ripening impose a late harvest, thus favouring the production of grapes that are rich in alcohol and extracts, tannins and acidity, which require a long aging process to express their full potential. We have searched for the best locations to obtain grapes which are suitable for a wine production that is compliant with the high standards of the Avellino area.
The Aglianico wine “Re Gallo” has an intense ruby color and features rich and strong wood scents with a predominance of blackberry and prune. On the palate it is full and balanced, with a good acidity and heady tannins. It goes wonderfully with red meats, cold cuts and medium-aged cheeses.
Then you have Taurasi, in which Aglianico grapes are macerated for 12/14 days at a controlled temperature and aged in oak barrels for 24 months subsequently in steel tanks before completing the refinement in the bottle. Looking quite dark in the glass, this wine has an equally dark aroma but with a straight, pleasant, fresh structured flavour, framed by soft tannins.
